World Premiere
Movements in Time
Artworks from the National Gallery
A Suite for Orchestra by Kelly Tang

Foundation for the Arts and Social Enterprise proudly presents the world premiere of “Movements in Time – Artworks from the National Gallery” by Cultural Medallion Recipient Kelly Tang.
Move through an exhibition of the National Gallery Singapore like never before with the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra, and trace the emotive contours of artworks by iconic Singapore artists Chua Mia Tee, Simryn Gill, Eng Tow, Han Sai Por and Tzee (Sarkasi Said) in this musical interpretation.
The concert will feature a solo guest performance by the prodigy pianist Mikkel Myer Lee. There will also be a screening of a mini documentary about the UTOPIA Symphony.
Art of Commissioning

Arts creation is at the centre of The Foundation’s ambition to build a network of patrons to elevate the soft power of the arts.
By growing the canon of Singapore music through original works and promoting multidisciplinary arts projects, our charitable organization works to cultivate the next generation of Singapore’s artistes and arts literacy in the community through education & outreach programmes.
And that’s just the first step in our vision to promote the arts as the creative impulse that drives a first-world society.
The Foundation’s mission is to be the catalyst that generates high-impact arts initiatives, through strategic fundraising to achieve international recognition for Singapore works and artistes on the global stage.
We take a holistic interventionist approach with its projects, engaging meaningfully with arts supporters and donors, the government and corporates to help drive the organization’s goals toward a vibrant arts ecosystem.
The Global Stage

The first in a series of Iconic Initiatives, the UTOPIA Symphony implicitly magnifies Singapore’s place in history as a model of success. Recorded by the London Philharmonic Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London under the baton of conductor Vladimir Jurowski, the UTOPIA Symphony was released on the LPO classical music label on major digital platforms like Spotify and iTunes.
