Linying

About the Artist

A contemporary pop singer and songwriter with a flair for heartfelt lyrics and inventive production, Linying represents both the tenacity and vulnerability of her own starry-eyed generation in songs about coming of age and coming to terms.

Her music first caught the attention of listeners around the world when she released her first single, an electronic ballad titled ‘Sticky Leaves’. Within weeks, the song unexpectedly rocketed up Spotify’s Global Viral 50 Chart, and garnered praise from Billboard, where it received its worldwide premiere. As she released song after song, international tastemakers like NPR’s Bob Boilen and BBC Radio 1 and even celebrity blogger Perez Hilton followed suit, propelling her far beyond her home country of Singapore and thereupon making national history.

Soon, she became the first female artist to sign with Universal Music for Asia Pacific, and subsequently the first Singaporean ever on US powerhouse label Nettwerk Music Group’s roster, joining the likes of label-mates Father John Misty and fun.. London-based boutique label Akira Records released her music in Europe and the UK, where she played her first ever headlining show.
