Mark has received top honours at major international competitions, including First Prize at the Grunewald International Music Competition 2024 and Second Prize at the Il Piccolo Violino Magico International Competition 2022.

A dedicated musician with ambitions to become a world-class violinist-composer-artist, Mark began learning the violin at three. From age five, he went under the tutelage of renowned Singaporean violinist Min Lee and also began composing.

To further his artistic development, Mark is currently based in Vienna, where he is undertaking long-term studies under Professor Boris Kuschnir at Kunst-universität Graz.

Mark has performed as a soloist in Singapore, Italy, and Germany, and has also participated in masterclasses with respected artist-musicians, including Dmitry Sitkovetsky, Boris Garlitsky, and Vadim Gluzman.

Alongside performing, Mark continues to compose and has a growing interest in improvisation.

Before Vienna, Mark attended Singapore’s Temasek Primary School, which gave him the opportunity to grow and develop in an encouraging and supportive environment. This enabled him to explore his curiosities and wide interests in many subjects, including emceeing while honing his music and violin skills, all of which he continues to explore and develop in Vienna.

Mark enjoys reading, chess, and various sports such as table tennis. He is a keen board and card game player and is known among friends for his sociable nature and readiness for a good laugh.
