Together with LASALLE, The Foundation builds important links between visiting and local artists, and the arts student community in Singapore, towards our common goal of cultivating future generations of artists and appreciators of art. The Foundation has supported Rock and Indie Festival (RIF), an annual music festival held in LASALLE College of the Arts.
An annual music festival held at LASALLE College of the Arts, RIF is a college initiative run by a committee comprising student interns led and mentored by college faculty.
Started in 2017, it is a platform for local musicians to showcase their talents on a professional stage and expand their audience reach. RIF features LASALLE students and alumni as well as well-known acts. Beyond being just a music festival, RIF is a celebration of music bringing musicians and music enthusiasts together and making it a must-go on the annual festival calendar.
This year’s installment featured performances by young students from Nexus International School who were selected via an open call, and also incorporated a band competition that was originally a student project, the winner of which got to perform at RIF 2019.
